iPhone owners can now file claims in a $250 million settlement reached in a class action lawsuit over Apple's Siri AI features. The settlement's website states that claimants can receive an estimated $25 for each eligible device. That amount could rise to $95 depending on how many people submit claims.
To file, iPhone owners must provide their name, contact information, and iPhone serial number through the settlement's website. The deadline to submit a claim is December 21st, 2026.
The class action alleged that Apple set a "clear and reasonable consumer expectation" that new AI features previewed during WWDC 2024 would be available when the iPhone 16 launched. Instead, the lawsuit claimed, the iPhone 16 shipped with a more limited set of capabilities even though it was marketed as "built for Apple Intelligence."
Apple later pushed back the release of its AI-upgraded Siri. That feature only arrived with iOS 27 earlier this month. Apple has denied any wrongdoing.
The case is one of several recent disputes over how companies market artificial intelligence features before they are fully available. For US consumers, the claims process offers a direct route to potential payment, with the per-device amount tied to participation in the settlement.
