Tesla was founded in 2003 and is headquartered in Austin, Texas, having moved from Palo Alto in 2021.

It builds electric vehicles - the Model S, 3, X, Y and Cybertruck - along with grid and home battery storage under the Powerwall and Megapack names, and it operates its own Supercharger network.

It appears on a technology desk mainly for its software: the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving driver-assistance systems, the custom inference hardware in its cars, and the regulatory scrutiny both attract.
