Apple

Apple was founded in 1976 and is headquartered in Cupertino, California. It designs and sells consumer hardware alongside the operating systems and services that run on it.

The iPhone is the centre of its business, surrounded by the Mac, iPad, Apple Watch, AirPods and Vision Pro. Since 2020 its Macs have run on Apple's own silicon rather than Intel processors, a transition that reshaped the laptop market's performance-per-watt expectations.

Its services business - the App Store, iCloud, Apple Music - is also what puts it in front of regulators, particularly over App Store rules in the EU.
